Facebook video and reels downloader
Paste a link from Instagram, Threads, Facebook, X (Twitter) or TikTok.
No sign-up. Files are deleted after 1 hour.
Paste the link of a public Facebook video or reel to save it as an MP4. You choose between a version that plays on every phone and, when Facebook has one, a higher-quality HD file that plays in Chrome on a computer but may not play on iPhone. Short links (fb.watch) and share links work too.
How to download
Copy the link in Facebook
On the video or reel, tap Share and tap Copy link. On a computer, copy the address of the video from the browser.
Paste it here
Paste the link above and tap Download. Links to videos, reels, Watch, fb.watch and /share/ all work.
Pick a version and save
Choose Plays everywhere or HD, then tap Save. On a phone, choose Save Video to put it in your gallery.

Why there are two versions
Facebook often keeps its HD videos in a newer format (VP9 or AV1) that iPhones can't play and some older phones can't either. PostDown doesn't convert videos, so it shows the choice instead: Plays everywhere is the H.264 version for any phone; HD is the sharper file, best watched in Chrome on a computer.
Questions
Which version should I choose?
Choose Plays everywhere to watch on a phone, especially an iPhone. Choose HD when you'll watch on a computer and want the sharpest picture.
Why won't the HD file play on my iPhone?
Facebook's HD file may be in VP9 or AV1, which iPhones don't play. Download Plays everywhere instead, or watch the HD file in Chrome on a computer.
Can I download videos from private groups?
No. PostDown never logs in, so it can only open videos anyone can see without an account.
Can I download Facebook photos or stories?
No. PostDown saves public videos and reels from Facebook.
Do fb.watch and share links work?
Yes. They're opened to find the original video, following only links that stay on Facebook.
Can I download live videos?
Not while they're live. Once the broadcast ends and is posted as a video, its link can be saved.
