Full quality, nothing added
PostDown saves each file as Instagram serves it, at the largest size Instagram provides. Nothing is re-encoded and no watermark is added: photos come as JPG, reels and videos as MP4 with their sound. The files stay on our server for one hour so you can save them, then they're deleted.
Questions
Can I download Instagram stories or highlights?
No. PostDown saves public posts and reels only. Stories, highlights and profile pictures can't be saved.
Can I save just one photo from a post?
Yes. After the post loads, tick only the items you want. Save all as ZIP is there when you want the whole post.
What quality are the files?
Each photo and video is the largest version Instagram shows to visitors who aren't logged in. PostDown doesn't compress or re-encode it.
Can I download from a private account?
No. PostDown never logs in, so it can only open posts anyone can see without an account.
The link opened a profile. What should I paste?
Paste the link of one post or reel, not of a profile. In the app, open the post first, then tap Share and Copy link.
Why does it say a post isn't public?
The account may be private, the post may be deleted, or Instagram may be asking visitors to log in for that post. Check that the post opens in a browser where you're logged out.
